The Troposphere Stratocaster pickups, developed by master builder Paul Waller in the Custom Shop, are underwound pickups that produce sweet tones. They offer more headroom for overdriven sounds and can clean up to bring out the most delicate tones. This calibrated pickup set features ’50s-style formvar wire on the bridge pickup, a reverse-wound/reverse-polarity middle pickup, and ’60s-style enamel wire on the neck pickup. Key features include hand winding by Josefina Campos, formvar magnet wire on the bridge and middle pickups, plain enamel wire on the neck pickup, Alnico 5 beveled magnets, wax dipping, an RWRP middle pickup, and cloth lead wires. Specifications include an SSS pickup configuration, cloth-covered lead wire, Alnico 5 magnet type, formvar-coated bridge and middle magnet wire, enamel-coated neck magnet wire, staggered hand-beveled pole pieces, fiber bobbin material, vintage output, and DC resistance of 5.4k for the neck, 5.52k for the middle, and 5.37k for the bridge.

Using these Fender pickups is easy. Just install them in your Stratocaster guitar following the standard pickup installation process. When using, you can adjust the height of the pickups to change the tone. For a brighter sound, raise the pickups closer to the strings; for a warmer sound, lower them. As for maintenance, keep your guitar in a dry and clean environment to prevent the pickups from getting rusty or damaged. Avoid exposing them to extreme temperatures and humidity. If the pickups get dirty, you can use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe them. Also, be careful when handling the cloth lead wires to prevent them from getting frayed or broken.
